Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment is a wonderful pampering and moisturizing treat for dry curly hair as I discovered once I tried out this deep conditioner.
It instantly rejuvenates and softens thirsty curls and is one of the best deep conditioning treatments for dry curly hair.
I first discovered Jessicurl a few years ago when I started practicing the Max Hydration Method.
I was initially grumpy about the price but once the product touched my hair, I completely forgot about the cost. Yes, it’s that good!
In this article, I share what makes Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment such a great treatment for curly hair and the best ways to use the deep conditioner on your hair.
About Jessicurl
Jessicurl was founded by Jessica McGuinty in 2002 out of her home with the introduction of the Rockin’ Ringlets Styling Potion.
Since then, the line has grown to include shampoos, deep conditioners, cleaners, stylers, and hair oils including the well-loved:-
- Jessicurl Too Shea! Extra Moisturizing Conditioner (My hair loved this one too)
- Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream
- Jessicurl Gentle Lather Shampoo
- Jessicurl Aloeba Daily Conditioner
- Jessicurl Spiralicious Styling Gel
Their ethos…”Whether you have fine waves or tight coils…You have the right to remain curly!®” reflects everything the Jessicurl brand stands for.
Currently, Jessicurl operates out of a full factory in Arcata, CA. Jessicurl hair products are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.
Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment Review
Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment is one of the best-selling deep conditioners from the Jessicurl product line.
The deep conditioner is formulated to provide intense moisturizing treatment for dry curly hair. It also softens and strengthens hair with some great natural extracts.
Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment is a water-soluble deep conditioner. If you’re not familiar with this phrase, it means it dissolves easily in water and won’t cause build-up.
It’s no surprise that this deep conditioning treatment became one of the bestselling products in the Jessicurl product line.
Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment also won Naturally Curly’s Best of the Best Leaders in Curl award in 2020!
If your dry hair is caused by chemical treatments like bleaching and coloring, you should definitely add Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment to your product stash.
Key Ingredients in Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment

Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment for Dry Hair
What I Love About Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment
- The consistency of Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment is quite thick which has two advantages – you need only a little at a time so the bottle lasts a while or you can dilute it for a thinner consistency.
- It’s a protein-free deep conditioning treatment for the days I need just that for my hair.
- Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment is a versatile hair treatment that can also be used as a shaving cream.
- This deep conditioner doesn’t cause build-up and is ideal for low porosity hair and high porosity hair. You may consider diluting for low porosity hair. You could also use it as a co-wash conditioner but I haven’t tried this yet.
- It has some of my favorite ingredients for healthy hair care such as shea butter, cocoa butter, aloe vera leaf juice, and horsetail, rosemary, nettle, burdock root, and lemongrass extract.
- The scent is delicate and doesn’t overpower the senses but a fragrance-free option is available if you prefer that.
- Despite the thickness and creamy feel of the product, it is non-greasy.
Cons of Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment
- The price is a bit steep. I’m very stingy when using it. I definitely recommend diluting.
- Some people have complained that it clogs pores but I didn’t experience this so it’s a person-to-person issue.
Overall, I rate Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment a 5/5 and would use it again. The deep conditioner is suitable for all hair types.
Does Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment Have Protein?
There is no protein in Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment. Most of the ingredients are moisturizing and strengthening.
There’s a full ingredient breakdown of Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment ingredients below.
How To Use Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment?
Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment is formulated to be used once a week.
It’s too thick and creamy to be used more than once a week unless you’re practicing the Max Hydration Method.
Apply to hair after shampooing and deep condition with heat for 20 – 30 minutes or 30 – 60 minutes without heat.
If you still find it too rich for your hair type, you can dilute it. Use Jessicurl Aloeba Daily Conditioner if you want something you can use more than once a week.
