Tina Knowles-Lawson, a former hairdresser, instilled in Beyoncé an in-depth understanding of the importance of hair care, particularly for Black women. This understanding began a journey that led to the birth of Cécred.
Cécred boasts a patent-pending Bioactive Keratin Ferment technology that closely matches and replaces the proteins depleted in hair.
The technology helps products penetrate hair strands, strengthen weak and damaged hair, and make it two times more resistant to breakage. It also improves structural integrity in hair and restores shine.

Its molecular weight is small enough to deeply penetrate the hair’s cortex to visibly strengthen weak, damaged, or highly manipulated hair.
Those are amazing product properties indeed and, if true, could become a game-changer for certain hair types, including high-porosity hair.

There are currently seven notable products in Cécred’s hair care line:-

- Hydrating Shampoo with hyaluronic acid and photo-collagen complex. Retails for $30, 8 oz.
- Moisturizing Deep Conditioner with shea butter, murumuru butter, and hyssop extract. It retails for $38, 10 oz.
- Reconstructing Treatment Mask, with seabuckthorn oil, hydrolyzed rice, and squalene. It retails for $42, 10 oz.
- Moisture Sealing Lotion with phyto-seal complex, oil blend, and hyssop extract. It retails for $54, 8 oz.
- Nourishing Hair Oil with a blend of 13 oils and plant-based extracts. It retails for $52, 1.7 oz.
- Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual is a deep-strengthening treatment done every four to six weeks. It can be compared to the popular Aphogee Protein Treatment. The pack includes three steps and four treatments. It retails for $74.
The ingredients in Cécred hair products are powerful and good for all hair types. Several of them have been featured in the Healthy Hair Care Series.
However, those price tags for the accompanying sizes are not something to sneeze at.
