Natural Hair News – Mo Knows Hair Curl Collection With Sally Beauty

Check out this detailed breakdown of the recently launched Mo Knows Hair Curl Collection in collaboration with Sally Beauty.

Over the next few articles, I’m covering black-owned hair care businesses launched in the past year and started with Tracee Ellis Ross’s Pattern Beauty.

Today, I will be covering Mo Knows Hair Curl Collection. Monica Stevens or as she’s more popularly known Mo Knows Hair, has been part of the natural online community for quite some time.

She originally shared her hair care tips on her blog, Mo Knows Hair, but eventually attended cosmetology school with a scholarship.

She became a licensed cosmetologist and opened a salon in Manhattan. She also became an Aveda Ambassador.

Mo Knows Hair Curl Collection. Is The Hype Worth It?

She recently partnered with Sally Beauty to launch the Mo Knows Hair Curl Collection in September 2019.

The product claim – “Each product is formulated with botanical extracts to nourish, essential oils and butter to enhance manageability, and powerful proteins to repair and improve elasticity, ultimately restoring scalp and curls to their optimal health.”

The product packaging is mainly lilac with white overtones and gold and purple lettering. And of course, the natural hair porn is epic.

The product line contains eight products for hair:-

  • Scalp and curl clarifier
  • Shampoo (coming soon)
  • Co-wash + conditioner
  • Restoring treatment
  • Curl primer
  • Styling potion
  • Smoothing pudding and
  • Setting gel

The product names are interesting and catchy but it’s the taste of the pudding curlistas are after so let’s get to the analysis part.

What Happened to Mo Knows Hair Products?

You might be finding it hard to locate your Mo Knows Hair in recent months. It’s not because they’ve gone out of business.

She took a break in September 2022 to work on some kinks behind the lines and figure out new vendors and distribution.

If you find Mo Knows Hair Products somewhere else right now, they might not be genuine so purchase with caution.

I’ll update this article once Mo Knows Hair products come back on the market. In the meantime, you can find great alternatives here.
