A breakdown of Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Treatment, pros and cons, and best ways to use it to strengthen hair.
I have loved Giovanni hair products for a long time. They manufacture some of my absolute favorite hair products such as:-
- Giovanni Direct Leave-in Weightless Moisture Conditioner
- Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deep Moisture Shampoo
- Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deep Moisture Conditioner
- Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Invigorating Conditioner
- Giovanni Nutrafix Hair Reconstructor
- Giovanni Smooth as Silk Xtreme Protein Hair Fusion
I also reviewed the Giovanni L.A Hold Styling Gel earlier. You can read the full review HERE.
Giovanni hair products are eco-friendly, natural, full of healthy ingredients, and, most of all, budget-friendly.
Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Hair Treatment combines vitamins with the goodness of protein for strengthening hair treatment.
Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Hair Treatment Review
The Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Hair Treatment is supposed to continue working long after you’re through with your regimen.
It protects hair from heat while treating damage and infusing hair with its rich ingredients. According to Giovanni website:-
“Vitapro Fusion™ fuses together the best parts of vitamins with the essential elements in protein to create soft, manageable, beautiful hair.”
How to Use Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Hair Treatment
I used this leave-in treatment following shampooing with Giovanni Smooth As Silk Moisture Shampoo.
I also deep conditioned with Maui Moisture Heal and Hydrate + Shea Butter Hair Mask.

As the directions indicated, I sprayed generously into my hair and instantly became alarmed. Why?
My hair became super hard and shrunk into itself if that makes sense. This was probably due to the protein content.
I was scared at the reaction so I applied it to only about 40% of my hair then applied Giovanni Direct Leave-in Weightless Moisture Conditioner to the rest.
Because I was testing it for the first time, I decided not to wash it out. I’m really glad I didn’t.
After air-drying my hair 70%, I blow-dried my hair and this is when the effects of this leave-in treatment really shone through.
I use a blow dryer with comb attachment similar to Conair Pro Silver Bird Hair Dryer.

My hair felt strong to the touch and had a lovely sheen to it afterward. I experienced less shedding than usual when I blow-dried my hair. My hair was also less frizzy.
What I Loved About Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Hair Treatment
- The smell was pleasant without being overpowering.
- It left my hair feeling strong and healthy to the touch by the end of my regimen.
- It has some excellent ingredients for natural hair such as aloe vera leaf juice, sunflower seed oil, chamomile, rosemary, and lavender (full ingredient listing below).
- Great product to use if you plan to blow dry or straighten your hair.
Below are the results after I blow-dried. I normally don’t blow dry bone straight. Just enough to stretch it so my stylist can braid my hair easily. Disclaimer – terrible at taking pictures :).
Rock It or Bin It?
Final Word on Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Hair Treatment?
Definitely rock it. It has become part of my product rotation now and forever.
My only comment would be to tread cautiously if you used products containing protein before the leave-in stage as this might be too much for your hair.
If your hair is craving protein though or has no problem with lots of protein then proceed with as much of it as your hair can take.
I would also recommend diluting it slightly with rose water instead of applying full strength. I will do this the next time I use it.
Finally, if you’re in a protective style, you should consider adding a few tablespoons of Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Hair Treatment to your hairspray.

Buy Giovanni Vitapro Fusion Protective Moisture Leave-in Hair Treatment
The standard product comes in a 5.1 fl oz bottle. You don’t need much of it at a time and if you dilute it every time you use it, expect the bottle to last for up to a year.
Below is a picture of how much of the product I used the first time without diluting it. I was a bit heavy-handed as well.
You can also mix this with another leave-in conditioner if you’re after moisture-protein balance or just want to experiment.

I had the same experience with this leave in but once I started diluting it considerably, the treatment worked better but was still effective. Really love the results too.
