Meghan Markle’s latest venture, With Love, Meghan, officially landed on Netflix earlier this month, sparking positive and negative conversations everywhere.
From one-pot pasta to heartwarming moments with Chef Roy Choi, Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle series serves up comfort, connection, and cultural affirmation with a soft life twist black women can feel seen in.
In a world that often feels chaotic and overwhelming, Netflix’s With Love, Meghan offers a calming space where elegance, ease, and intentional living take center stage.
The show, hosted and executive produced by Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, invites viewers into a sun-drenched Montecito kitchen for a series that blends storytelling, food, and heartfelt connection.
This series resonates on multiple levels: as a soft life visual guide, a tribute to culture, and a quiet invitation for Black women to embrace ease and joy.

With Love, Meghan has eight episodes, and I watched and enjoyed every episode, but two stood out the most for me:-
- The easy, flavorful exchange with Chef Roy Choi, Episode 3, Two Kids from LA.
- The soothing, no-fuss comfort of Meghan’s one-skillet pasta, truffle popcorn, and honey lemon layer cake, Episode 1, Hello, Honey!
With Love, Meghan embodies the principles of ‘soft life’ and intentional luxury with grace.
The ‘soft life’ is about embracing simplicity, elegance, and joy in everyday living, and Meghan’s series beautifully captures this essence.
With Love, Meghan reminds us that creating a peaceful home, preparing nourishing meals, and sharing space with those you love is more than aspirational; it’s achievable.
Her series permits us to lean into our femininity, cultural heritage, and creativity on our own terms.

My Favorite Episodes of With Love, Meghan
The Power of Simplicity in the One-Skillet Pasta (Episode 1)
I don’t know about you, but the fewer tools I have to use while cooking, the more interested I am in the dish.
There’s something deeply soothing about watching someone prepare a beautiful dish in one pot without the pressure of perfection.
Meghan’s one-skillet pasta recipe is a standout because she frames it as a metaphor for life: Don’t overthink it. Let it flow. Trust the process. It’s a vibe.
And for those of us navigating high-achieving lives in a society that rarely permits Black women to slow down, that message hits hard.
And let’s not forget that she used a Le Creuset Dutch oven for her one-skillet pasta. That soft matte finish and signature elegance created a whole vibe.
If you’ve ever dreamed of investing in a heirloom-quality kitchen piece, this is the one.
Other standouts from Episode 1 of With Love, Meghan include her homemade truffle popcorn and honey lemon layer cake with raspberries.
Popcorn is a generic snack, but on the show, Meghan transforms it into something worthy of a luxe picnic or intimate gathering with olive oil, fresh lemon zest, and a finishing drizzle of truffle oil.
It’s a reminder that we don’t have to wait for big occasions to treat ourselves.
And then there’s the honey lemon layer cake. It’s bright, citrusy, and sweet without being overly rich, made with real honey for a floral undertone that feels comforting and refined.
While I’m not big on berries in a cake, I love the pop of color they provide. Meghan’s cake isn’t revolutionary in ingredients but powerful in context.
It’s a slice of softness, a gentle reclaiming of joy, and a reminder that indulgence is not only allowed but also necessary.
Chef Roy Choi and Cultural Flavor (Episode 3)
My favorite episode, “Two Kids from LA,” features Korean-American culinary star Chef Roy Choi.
Chef Choi brings flavor, fire, and soul to the kitchen, and Meghan matches that energy with open-hearted curiosity as someone who grew up on Korean food and Southern California vibes.
Together, they prepare dishes like kimchi, ramen salt, Korean sauces, and quick-pickled veggies.
But beyond the recipes, what shines is their shared sense of cultural pride and creativity, a testament to the beauty of cross-cultural connection.
Watching Meghan fully engage in this experience, listening, learning, and laughing, felt very heartwarming.
This episode speaks to the beauty of cross-cultural connection and the joy of shared storytelling over food. It left me feeling seen, hungry, and thoroughly entertained.
This episode also convinced me to revisit something I’ve disliked since I was a kid – breaded chicken.
The way Chef Choi prepared Korean fried chicken has converted me forever. And how about those fantastic sauces?
With Love, Meghan is More Than a Lifestyle Series
With Love, Meghan is a soft life masterclass wrapped in a lifestyle show. It’s about more than cooking. It’s about intentionality and creating space for joy.
From the warm visuals to the floral arrangements to the calming presence of other guests like actress Mindy Kaling, every moment feels like a love letter to the idea that rest and luxury are not mutually exclusive.
It’s pretty validating for Black women to see this narrative on screen.
Anyone Else Ready for With Love, Meghan Season 2?
The buzz around a second season is growing, and I, for one, am eagerly anticipating it.
If Season 1 is any indication, Meghan will continue using her platform to share recipes, crafts, and more.
And hopefully, she’ll keep centering ease, elegance, and emotional honesty in a world that often asks Black women to be everything for everyone.

With Love, Meghan Presents a Lifestyle Worth Living
With Love, Meghan is a gentle nudge toward the life many of us are working to create. A life filled with flavor, intentionality, and moments of stillness.
Meghan Markle gives us that, not in a flashy, unattainable way, but with warmth and humanity. And that matters.
For Black women especially, this series reflects soft life aspirations coming to life on screen.
We see ourselves in the quiet luxury, the meaningful connections, and the lovingly prepared food.
And we’re reminded that softness isn’t weakness; it’s power. So yes, I’m watching again. And counting down to Season 2.
With Love, Meghan also serves as a soft launch for As Ever, her lifestyle brand that will release jams, teas, and baking mixes sometime in 2025.
It’s clever branding that’s subtle yet bold enough to keep us curious!
