Is Curlsmith Good for Curly Hair?

Curlsmith is a gourmet haircare brand created especially for curly-haired men and women.

Curlsmith combines the freshness of foods that curls love with kitchen staples and organic ingredients to create products that work.

Curlsmith popularity has grown in the past year or so and is now becoming a staple of many curlistas.

In this article, I’ll be breaking down Curlsmith’s product line, what people say about Curlsmith, and if it really works for curls.

A Little About Curlsmith

Curlsmith started in 2018 as an online community on YouTube and Instagram.

Fuelled by the response, the creators launched the brand with 4 main products.

Along the way, Curlsmith collaborated with hundreds of wavy and curly-haired women to develop the right kind of products that curls love.

The Curlsmith brand has now grown to include over 40 vegan and cruelty-free hair care products.

Curlsmith products are free of sulfates, parabens, silicones, mineral oils, phthalates, DEA.

They are also certified by The Vegan Society and PETA as cruelty-free. Their products are tested by humans.

Curlsmith recently raised additional capital to expand its brand in the US and Europe.

Is Curlsmith Black-Owned?

The information on this is not exactly clear. It seems the founders own 85% of Curlsmith. However, it’s not immediately obvious who those founders are.

The company has received investments from celebrities like J.Cole, Mai, and James Lassiter though.

I think it’s safe to conclude Curlsmith is not black-owned at this point. If I come across any information to the contrary, I will update this article.
